Dokken Engineering designed 3 pedestrian overcrossings in the City of Santa Clarita that connect the Town Center Mall to the City’s Paseo system.
Valencia Boulevard POC
This structure has a 282-foot long by 11-foot wide superstructure composed of four simple spans. Three of the spans are arched architecturally treated pre-cast concrete girders supporting a concrete deck over a steel floor pan. The pre-cast girders are supported by elastomeric bearing pads on hollow concrete piers on spread footings. The main span is a 162-foot long steel truss bridge fabricated of tube sections, which support a concrete deck over a steel floor pan.

Magic Mountain Parkway POC
This superstructure is a simple span, 155 feet long by 10 feet wide, steel truss bridge built out of tube sections which support a concrete deck over a steel floor pan. Similar to the Valencia Boulevard POC, steel bars were threaded through the truss' bottom chords and grouted in place to meet the architectural and redundancy requirements.
Creekside Road POC
This superstructure is a simple span, 135 feet long by 10 feet wide, steel truss bridge built out of tube sections which support a concrete deck over a steel floor pan. To meet architectural and redundancy requirements, the concrete deck and truss bottom chords were designed as a composite member. Longitudinal reinforcing was placed in the deck to meet the redundancy requirement.
