Dokken Engineering completed the PS&E and environmental documentation for the replacement of the Johnsville Road Bridge over Jamison Creek in Plumas County. Built in 1938, the existing bridge was structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. Project funding was through the HBRR program.

The new bridge and 541 feet of approach roadway were realigned downstream of the existing structure to remove tight curves at each end of the bridge and improve the design speed through the site.

The new bridge is a two-span reinforced concrete box girder structure on a curved alignment, 30.5 feet wide and 151 feet long, with a single pier in the creek channel. Construction required two consecutive summer seasons. In order to maintain traffic throughout the construction process, the new bridge was constructed in two stages.
