Dokken Engineering prepared the Project Report, PS&E, and provided design support through construction for the Greenback Lane Improvement Project. The project objectives were to improve traffic operations and expand the existing Greenback Lane streetscape concept through the project corridor. Upon selection of the preferred alternative, Dokken proceeded with the PS&E phase which, in addition to the PS&E, involved determining right of way needs, initiating acquisitions, directing utility relocation work, coordinating the special access needs of a fire station located in the middle of the project, and preparing additional environmental compliance documents as the project evolved. |
Traffic operations were improved by converting the last remaining segment of Greenback Lane to a 6-lane roadway with bike lanes, sidewalks, and raised medians. The project expanded on the existing Citrus Heights Streetscape concept, by placing decorative sound walls and barrier walls, separating sidewalks from the traveled way with landscaping strips where possible, use of landscaping or decorative stamped concrete for raised medians, and creating a 2 acre greenway on the south side of the project where 17 residential parcels were purchased and removed. |
