Dokken Engineering provided preliminary and design engineering services for the realignment of a major frontage road. The road was realigned for approximately .8 miles to vacate an area adjacent to the SR 125/SR 94 separation and create space for the freeway connectors and associated entrance ramps. The realignment improved the design speed of the roadway from 15 to 40 mph through a combination of horizontal and vertical improvements. Extensive utility relocations, traffic handling, and right-of-way acquisitions were required. Coordination with City of La Mesa, impacted businesses, and residents was required to minimize public hardship. |
Other services provided by Dokken Engineering included surveying and mapping, signing and striping, utility coordination & relocation, lighting, geotechnical investigations, drainage, noise study, sound walls, landscaping, and presentations to SANDAG and La Mesa City Council. The realignment also required extensive utility relocations, traffic handling, and right-of-way. Full takes were required on over 40 parcels along with numerous partial takes and temporary easements. |
