Dokken Engineering provided the PS&E for the replacement of Cone Grove Road Bridge at New Creek in northern Tehama County. The project was funded through the Federal HBRR program.

The existing 2-span, steel truss bridge was replaced with a 2-span, cast-in-place, prestressed concrete box girder structure which is 130 feet long and 34 feet wide. Approximately 1,300 feet of the roadway was realigned to correct deficiencies in the existing horizontal alignment.

New Creek is an actively degrading stream, and the hydraulic study included a geomorphic analysis to determine the long-term scour requirements. Deep scour provisions were included in the design of the bridge foundations. Traffic was maintained during construction by means of a low-water detour just upstream of the bridge.
