Richard Dokken, PE, Founder & CEO
Mr. Dokken oversees all operational affairs of Dokken Engineering and provides leadership to the divisional management team, and provides expert and professional, principal-level consultation on all projects. Mr. Dokken has project management and design engineering experience on various local, state and federally funded projects, and experience in both public and private sector engineering agencies. As Project Manager and Design Engineer he has supervised professional engineering teams, development and preparation of bridge PS&E’s and design coordination during construction.
Richard Liptak, PE, President
Mr. Liptak has been with Dokken Engineering since its inception in 1986. As Principal in charge, Mr. Liptak ensures sufficient resources are available to the team to complete the project on schedule and on budget. He serves as principal point of contact for client and public agencies, has overall responsibility for project management, administration, development and quality control on numerous bridge and highway projects. As Project Manager and Design Team Leader, Mr. Liptak administers direction and supervision of professional and technical engineering staff.
Chris Johnson, PE, Vice President
Mr. Johnson has more than 15 years of experience designing and managing transportation projects. He leads our San Diego office and provides our clients with expert project management services.  Mr. Johnson has successfully led the development of engineering studies supporting NEPA/CEQA environmental document approval. He also has extensive experience in the preparation of Plans, Specifications & Estimate (PS&E) and has provided design support for his projects through the completion of construction. Mr. Johnson has worked with numerous agencies throughout the state, including Caltrans and the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG).
